I am starting this thread, because there are several road projects, fly overs along with some railway works in Pollachi region are being updated in Coimbatore threads. Though its all comes under Coimbatore district, there are many projects are currently undergoing in Coimbatore region itself. Therefore, I thought a thread for Pollachi region is necessary for better understanding.

கொரோனா பாதிப்பை கட்டுப்படுத்த ஊரடங்கு அமலில் உள்ளது. இதற்கிடையில் தளர்வுகள் செய்யப்பட்டு பஸ், ரெயில் போக்குவரத்து மீண்டும் தொடங்கியது. இந்த நிலையில் கொரோனா வைரஸ் தாக்கம் அதிகரிக்க தொடங்கியதால் பஸ், ரெயில் போக்குவரத்து நிறுத்தப்பட்டது. இதற்கிடையில் பராமரிப்பு பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளும் ஊழியர்களுக்கு மட்டும் சிறப்பு ரெயில்கள் இயக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
இந்த ரெயில் பாலக்காட்டில் இருந்து காலை 6.45 மணிக்கு புறப்பட்டு பொள்ளாச்சிக்கு 8.45 மணிக்கு வருகிறது. பின்னர் பொள்ளாச்சியில் இருந்து காலை 9.15 மணிக்கு புறப்பட்டு, கிணத்துக்கடவிற்கு 10 மணிக்கு செல்கிறது.
அங்கிருந்து மாலை 4 மணிக்கு புறப்பட்டு, பொள்ளாச்சிக்கு 4.45 மணிக்கு வருகிறது. பொள்ளாச்சியில் இருந்து 5.15 மணிக்கு புறப்பட்டு, இரவு 7.15 மணிக்கு பாலக்காடு செல்கிறது.

New road to Pollachi in the works
Coimbatore: If everything goes well, one could reach Pollachi from the city without getting stuck at traffic snarls via Podanur, Chettipalayam, Myleripalayam and Arasampalayam. This will be an alternate road to reach Pollachi.
The state highways department is planning to lay two-lane road for a stretch of 23.65km on this route at an estimated cost of Rs 62 crore. The road would be 10 metres wide. The project entails acquisition of 23.65 acres land, the cost of which is not included in the project cost.

Soon, Pollachi will be seen as a part of the Coimbatore like Neelambur/Saravanampatti.
With Pollachi to Udumalaipet road getting widen for 3600 crores budget and Ukkadam bridge getting ready, the travelling time from Gandhipuram to Udumalaipet might be same as travelling from Gandhipuram to Sular on peak hours. This change means a lot to many of us.

From Ukkadam flyover to UDT, the existing road distance is about 70km. By car, it will take less than an hour.
Mostly, the NH83 will skip Pollachi. May be the CBE-POY 4 lane road will be extended from where the concrete road ends at Achipatti (from here, 5km to Pollachi) and will merge with POY-UDT road near Unjavelampatti (5km from Pollachi).
In my assumption this Pollachi bybass road by NHAI will be for about 6 km. From Achipatti to Pollachi, the 4 lane road is not part of NHAI and similarly from Pollachi to Unjavelampatti 4/6 lane road is not part of NHAI.
UDT will have a bypass too.

If buses are operated like *Ukkdam-*R'n'puram-*Podanur-Chetipalayam-Kondampatty-Mullupadi-Pollachi, then people who are in need to go the NH road right now will get direct access near to them. (*or from Vellalore IBS once operational)
While looking on google maps, found that the road may go close to some arts and science colleges (Lakshmi narayan, Nehru Maha Vidyalaya, The Nilgiris) and engineering colleges (Karpagam, SVS, Sri Eshwar and Arjun College of Technology). Several other colleges and many schools might be situated on this route. Similarly, many industries might be located too.
Hope govt gives importance and finishes the project soon.

Checked in google for the location (Venesapatti). Hope this is right. The road is apart about 3.5km at Mukkonam stop in UDT.
