Philippines population to hit 107 million in 2018
MANILA, Philippines — From 105.53 million last year, the country’s population will rise to 107.19 million by the end of 2018, the Commission on Population (PopCom) said yesterday.
Citing projections by the Philippine Statistics Authority based on the latest census in 2015, PopCom executive director Juan Antonio Perez III said the population was estimated to grow to 107,190,081 by Dec. 31 from 105,377,586 in 2017.
Perez said the increase would be boosted by some 1.8 million babies expected to be born this year, representing a growth rate of 1.69 percent.
“That means we will be adding 4,953 Filipinos per day, or 206 every hour in 2018,” he told The STAR.

Why compare the same period when the situations are so contrastingly different? Who would like to get married if your relatives cannot join you in your most important event in life? If there is revenge spending, there will be revenge marriage, so to speak!

The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) on Monday said the number of pregnancies among 10 to 14-year-olds was still high in 2022 at more than 2,000.
we are now about Japan's population, but they are a rich country where is more work for its people. we are poor a country with a huge population, a declining birth rate is better for us since there is not enough jobs to go around for our people.
That is a valid vision when people are trapped in their countries decades ago. People are unable to travel in search of greener pastures! The ability to travel is a game changer and finding jobs away from your area helps workers.
That is why companies now understand workers and not trying to hold on to workers who intend to go out of their employ. It helps the workers personally, and maybe, just maybe, the company can replace them with workers from afar that are better than the ones who left.
Once there will be lesser travel restrictions, and the only thing that matters is the ability of persons to pay the indicated fare, we will see people of different nationalities working in different countries. Such is the effect of globalization --> superior organizations manned by competent international workers, able to produce more goods and services in a more efficient manner!
The question is when. Nations still go to war because of boundaries, beliefs, etc. That thing will start when people have no more implicit biases, on national boundaries and protectionist rules!

Not true. We are practically at full employment today. Declining birth rates mean we will NOT have enough people to replace those who will retire.

Not that a China decline would benefit us greatly! I would imagine countries around the world being sad those cheapoo gadgets vanish from the market stalls. Also, I think nobody is unexpendable in the world market. If China experiences a slump, other countries might come up and fill the gap. One man's loss is another man's gain, they say!
Just make a simple survey among your friends or neighborhood if what you said that we are in "full employment" is true. That is an exaggerated statement. Probably all the people you know have jobs and are not suffering from the lack of work or the lack of food. Go to the provinces, and see if people there are in full employment.
They will just move to SEA, like many are today, because of the anger towards them for starting the pandemic.
