It is interesting to see pics of different times in a cities history and there are many reproductions of early Melbourne in books..but I have many old books with 'Present Day' pics and it's good to see whats written under some of the pics which was a boast at the time yet now seems sometimes small...yet in other amazing for the times...In these of the 20's huge crowds went to the MCG, Melbourne Cup...and even Henley on the Yarra ! Melbourne was the Capital of Australia at the time but some pics confuse me..like listing the Mail Exchange on Spencer St. as the GPO ???

We can never get too much of this stuff redbaron_012: you'll find the oldies are always popular on the forum, particularly when some new images turn up. Nostalgia splurges tend to take place in winter. Gawd, 100,000 people going to Henley-on-the-Yarra! :)
Cool pictures, I like seeing the older stuff
