It looks good, but I personally would have wished for a little bit more variation. I think that the row to the west could have been designed different than the rest. Also I'm a bit worried that it is going to be white concrete facades. It could look that way in the renderings. I'm so tired of white concrete.

Regardig the project on Ø3 "Havneholmen", lokalplan 953:

1.approval of the lokalplan is on the agenda for the next bi-weekly city council meeting, to be held june 26. The agenda has been revealed today, and hence, the lokalplan can be seen here: (sag 5)
http://www.aarhus.dk/da/politik/Byraadet/Byraadsmoeder/Dagsorden-til-byraadsmoede.aspx

Up to 13 floors towards Bernhardt Jensens boulevard and towards "isbjerget", a bit lower against the bay.

It really looks nice :)
Indeed :)

So, how did the meeting go?

This sucks: http://urbandanmark.dk/index.php/11...nd/1171-havneholmen-i-aarhus-skal-skaeres-til

Why does neighbours from Isbjerget complain about the height? Isbjerget isn't exactly a 2 storey building itself :eek:hno:
http://jyllands-posten.dk/aarhus/erhverv/ECE6306788/havnebyggeri-mister-hoejde-efter-indsigelser/

Derfor mener de, at der opstår uacceptable skygge- og udsigtsforhold i og fra deres lejligheder i Isbjerget.
:)

IMO: Sort of misleading title on the article though, as the height reduction isn't very dramatic?

The Havneholmen complex consist of 5 blocks.
Block B1 will still be 13 floors and 47,9 m
Block B2 will still be 10 floors and 38,5 m
Block B5 will still be 10 floors and 38,5 m

These 2 blocks are the one next to Isbjerget -
Block B3 will still be 10 floors but reduced from 38,5 m to 35,9 m
Block B4 will loose 1 floor from 13 to 12 and the height will be reduced from 47,9 to 42,10

http://www.aarhus.dk/~/media/eDoc/1/2/6/1267319-1704222-1-pdf.pdf

It is not the municipality who want to reduce height next Isbjerget, it is the owner of the project. But still it does not change anything in the overall project, but the 2 neighbours in Isbjerget who have made complaints over the height are nutters. They only just moved in and they know that Aarhus Ø are an developing area with many talller buildings. so who are they to complain?

The good news are that the complex are ready to get aproved today in the city council, so lets hope it does. Then construction can begin.
According to the original plan they should indeed start about now.

http://www.aarhus.dk/da/politik/Byraadet/Byraadsmoeder/Dagsorden-til-byraadsmoede.aspx

Så måske Urbandanmark har fået fat i et gammelt citat fra rådmanden, eller også foregriber rådmanden begivendedernes gang?
Eller måske det bare er en formsag, der kan klares uden om byrådet?

^^ That is exactly what i thought. I think Teknisk udvalg are looking at this right now whit Naturstyrelsen to resolve the noise "problems" and then it will get the final stamp of approval from the city council.

Yes, Urbandanmark.dk was referring to an article in Lokalavisen, Aarhus. But this article has several errors and misunderstandings.

I guess Lokalavisen just took an old statement from B. Simsek given after the meeting of 4/12 saying he wants a solution, and published it now (17/12) as a fact that the solution has been approved. Poor job, both by Lokalavisen, Aarhus, and Urbandanmark.dk

No other media was tricked by this, I noticed.

The Lokalplan has not been approved yet. According to Aarhus kommunes homepage, the Lokalplan was on the agenda for the municipalty meeting 5th of February. However, according to the minutes of meeting, it was not debated, and has not been handled on any meeting afterwards.

But it properly will be soon as it is on the agenda for tomorrow's meeting in Teknisk udvalg. And the I suspect it to be approved shortly , since construction is just about to start..
