Today's SMH Commercial Property Section has an ad promoting the sale of a D/A for a 12 storey commercial and residential development on King Georges Rd, Wiley Park comprising literally one side of the shopping centre. They would also gain ownership of the Wiley Park hotel on the opposite side of the site.

124 apartments would be built with retail.

There are two midrisers up to 7 storeys along that strip at present.

Bankstown has a few tallies these days. The fact its surrounded by hills makes them look alot smaller. Those "new" buildings have been there for several years at least.

Didn't realise Kanangra was quite so large and will overlook the (nice) houses next door quite so much. A big selling point is adora chocolates just across the road!

I was laughing at that one as well. Kanangra is a similar walk to Marrickville station, but at least has a bus stop out side the front door which heads directly there.

Any idea what's happening immediately next to the station, in front of The Pottery. Noticed the site has now been cleared the other day.

The projects planned for Kingsgrove belong in the Hurstville projects thread because that part of the suburb is under the control of Hurstville Council.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it north of the M5 East (approx) is Canterbury and then on the south, east of Kingsgrove Road is Rockdale and west of Kingsgrove Road is Hurstville?

That just makes it all confusing. Should just give Kingsgrove its own thread. lol

I went through Bankstown today and yes there is some activity.

New Bankstown Library & Knowledge Centre (to be completed before the end of the year). The location is the corner of Rickard & Chapel Road.

Link (renders & info): http://www1.bankstown.nsw.gov.au/Town-Hall-and-Library-Knowledge-Centre/default.aspx

Directly opposite the new library on Chapel road will be a new retail and commercial development "Little Siagon" a retail and commercial development.

Nearby in Kitchener Street, I saw an apartment tower rising as well. No details just yet on it.
