The only good thing is that while they did make it all dark they also made it very cool in the heat. The sails also blocked a tonne of light, they made the lobby and Felix Street really dark, hopefully this lets a lot more light in.

The under awning lighting should certainly help illuminate the area. It won't help Felix Street though - those shade sales will remain. The sails also blocked a tonne of light, they made the lobby and Felix Street really dark, hopefully this lets a lot more light in.
It will be still to come because, without it, the building wouldn't have an pedestrian awning, which I'm sure Council wouldn't stand for.So, have they knocked off the fancey awning decorations altogether? I thought that was still coming.
Whilst I want that fancy awning on 288 there wasn't one originally? The under awning lighting should certainly help illuminate the area. It won't help Felix Street though - those shade sales will remain.

I don't mind the Felix Street protective covering. I reckon it's kinda groovy but I have no problem with the untidy sails being replaced by a solid awning structure. The "Felix St Experience" needs to be removed.
The Metro, underground light rail above ground or YouTube or possibly a couple of trucks wouldn't be stopping there by any chance??Context of the Riparian drop-off upgrade. Obviously significantly larger than the original area.

The whole open frontage of 288 was effectively one big awning. Not a particularly good one, as it didn't really connect up to adjacent awnings, but an awning nonetheless.Whilst I want that fancy awning on 288 there wasn't one originally?
I thought they were solar voltaic panels for a minuteHere are some shots of 288 Edward Street from yesterday. Note the silver mountings above the podium facade.
Noticing the red netting, looking up shows a prototype of the new window hood things in place:
Starbucks fitout was nearing completion as I walked past this morning. Signs up saying it’s due to open in July. It looks to be open to the lobby of the building on one side and has a single glass door to the street. Here are some shots of 288 Edward Street from yesterday. Fitout seemed nice. scandi wood and leather chairs, a large share table in the middle of the space.
