Planning Proposal for 1-13 Spring Street, 56-70 Archer Street and 35 Albert Ave, Chatswood

This planning proposal is being debated at the next council meeting.

And it has not been recommended for approval. So it will probably be sent for a zoning review by the developer.

The site is currently zoned B3 Commercial Core

OFFICER'S RECOMMENDATION

That Council:
1. Not support public exhibition of the Planning as the Planning Proposal:

a) Is a departure from the current planning controls on the site which prohibit residential land use.

b) Is inconsistent with the Council endorsed Chatswood CBD Planning and Urban Design Strategy which prohibits residential land use on this site within the B3 Commercial Core.

c) Is inconsistent with the Greater Sydney Region Plan and the North District Plan which encourages protection of the Chatswood CBD commercial core for employment purposes.

Not forward the Planning Proposal to the Department of Planning and Environment seeking a Gateway Determination
