In this thread we can discuss about the public transport infrastructure in Timisoara, present and future plans of improving it and -of course- how.

For starters, i think a few maps of the main public transport routes (tram, bus, trolleybus and metro express routes) would be very much appreciated by current residents and potential visitors of our lovely city.

In order to have the most accurate maps possible, i kindly request some feed-back from active RATT forum members.

Your input will be vastly appreciated :)

Excellent idea. I was not aware there wasn't such a thread for Timisoara. I've never been to your city but what I have seen from pictures seems quite admirable. From what I can see on Google Maps rail infrastructure is very developed, surrounding the city centre. Are there any plans/possibilities for a TER-like project of S-bahns going to the outlying neighbourhoods/communes?

I also see several rail lines passing near airports. Since Timisoara is one of the leading airports in the country, are there any plans to include a direct rail link to the city?

There is a plan to link the North station with the airport ,it only needs like 1,5km of lines and to make an rail link around the city so that the RATT can use the existing line (which is used to go to (Lugoj,,Bucharest )
