Guys, has the Sheraton Langkawi closed down or something? How come it is no longer shown as a Starwood Malaysia hotel? The website also links to the general Sheraton page now...
I have some Australian relatives in town and wanted to get them to try out this hotel (they will be heading to LGK this weekend), but looks like I'll help to book the Westin instead (I stayed there twice previously and loved it)!
Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort now known as Century Four Points Resort

Management pact signed to open new hotel in Langkawi
Pan Pacific Hotels Group has signed a management agreement with Gagasan Langkawi Sdn Bhd to open the 262-room Parkroyal Langkawi Resort in 2017.
Langkawi is one of the country’s best-known and most popular beach destinations – blending historical attractions, great cuisine, excellent diving opportunities with buzzing nightlife. For its stunning geological parks and landscapes, Langkawi has also been awarded the Unesco World Geopark status. The island saw over three million tourist arrivals last year and is expected to hit the four-million mark this year.
Featuring 253 rooms and nine villas, Parkroyal Langkawi Resort will enjoy a prime beachfront location at Pantai Tengah Beach, the longest and most popular stretch of beach in Langkawi, and lie adjacent to a retail and dining complex.
Within the resort, guests will be able to indulge in its extensive range of facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, beach bar, spa, gymnasium, family lounge, ballroom, meeting rooms and outdoor swimming pools.
In Malaysia, Pan Pacific Hotels Group owns and/or manages three other Parkroyal properties: Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur, Parkroyal Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur and Parkroyal Penang Resort.

EXPANDS REDEVELOPMENT PLANS
The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club’s (RLYC) redevelopment of its club and marina, which began in February 2015, has progressed with exciting results. The redevelopment to enhance the club’s facilities and services has, along the way, been reassessed and more attractive features added.
The redevelopment works, expected to be completed at the end of November 2015, involve the modern transformation of this 18-year-old-building while retaining essential nostalgic elements of the original structure for aesthetic and historical appeal.
From 30 additional berths, the marina will now be built with 50 new berths of 12, 17 & 20-metres, and a number of berths to accommodate super yachts up to 80-metres. All berths will be equipped with new power systems of 60Amps up to 400Amps, sanitation pumps, safety and fire-fighting equipment, and water and fuel for their boats. Boat owners will be assured of 24-hour security patrols.
In the main Clubhouse building, guests will be welcomed into a new spacious lobby and be led up to stylishly designed rooms on the 1st floor. Instead of 9, as originally planned, there will now be 32 rooms – 9 of which will be located on the 1st floor of the Clubhouse with balconies offering ocean vistas, yet protected by the unique roof shaped like a ship’s hull, which has become the club’s identifying feature.
The other 23 rooms will be built overlooking the water at Fisherman’s Wharf – a new lifestyle zone with retail and beauty therapy outlets, office space and marine related services as well as F & B options.
The RLYC, located on the mystical island of Langkawi in the northwest of Peninsular Malaysia, is positioned as the ideal stopover for travellers whether by land or sea. Established 18 years ago, the club has maintained its status as a prominent destination for sailors by providing world-class marina and berthing facilities as well as food and beverage services in an idyllic island setting.
