Qantas this month has decided to cut its Adelaide to Auckland route citing 'sluggish demand'

But almost instanteously after this was announced Air NZ has declared that it will double its capacity on the route, to double by November and then daily in February.

What is Qantas doing wrong? Is Qantas overlooking Adelaide to its long term detriment?
