Do we know what use this has? Is it related to the merger of the QE / Women's and Children's hospital ?
).
The SHF project offers an opportunity for HCA UK and UHB to develop a long-term, strategic partnership approach to delivering exceptional, shared patient services that will provide 114 Inpatient beds, 6 ICU beds and 18 Day Case beds as well as new theatres, imaging rooms and consulting and treatment rooms.
50 new, on-site parking spaces for patients and visitors will be provided as part of this development.
The vision for this hospital is to create an unrivalled centre of medical excellence in the West Midlands, re ecting the specialist expertise of UHBs consultants, and bene tting from the convenience, support and back-up of the entire QEHB campus:
• No other location in the West Midlands has such a large concentration of consultants on-site, or is a more convenient location for consultants to develop their private practice.
• No other location can offer the breadth and depth of on-site clinical support required for consultants to have the con dence to manage the highest acuity patients privately.
Proposals for the SHF re ect the breadth and depth of UHB consultants’ clinical expertise. The hospital is planned to offer cardiovascular, neurosciences, cancer, hepato-biliary and haematology services as well as a broad range of general medical, general surgery and orthopaedics specialties from a new build hospital located primarily on the site of the existing Post Graduate Centre (PGC) which currently provides space for meetings, conferencing and lecturing that will be demolished as part of the development of the SHF.
From my understanding they’re still on the cards but looking at potential further worksLooks a lot better than the conferences building.
Whatever happened to the plans for the Womens Hospital?
I remember it looked OK so if they have gone back to the drawing board it could look better hopefully. From my understanding they’re still on the cards but looking at potential further works

Not related to merger. It is part of the deanery re-named Health Education England West Midlands. It is used by all the trusts for teaching post-graduate (undergraduate there are mainly in facilities within each of the hospital which are kinda shared too), the land belongs to the mental health trust.Do we know what use this has?
