This tower is proposed for the Central Carpark site at the corner of Charlotte and Albert diagonally opposite Festival Towers and next to Charlotte Towers.

The RL for the top is 132.70m and the site is 5.5m above sea level. There are 23 storeys of Office, 5 above ground and 5 below ground levels of carpark, a retail/resteraunt level at the base, a mid level foyer and from what it looks like on the application 5 levels for plant facilities.

I was hoping this site would bring forth and provide a Australian Tallest, but alas this was not to be!

Render thanks to Locke for his effort in taking it off the Press Release. Taken from here:

all our carparks are getting office towers on top of them!
Anything is better than the present way those inner city carparks look
Excellent.

This is very true!
I want to see a taller building on this site. It's still possible for this application to be either rejected or re-submitted for a taller building.
decent size, we need more bulk in the middle of the cbd instead of all pushed up against the river edges.
What happens to the Coffee Club and restaurants underneath now??
As always I'd like it taller but for some reason it looks good in the Render and a good height.
If this is going, then hooray, I'm sure the design will include street cafes, they are very popular in that part of town.

The only intresting thing about that carpark is the exit it has on to Elizabeth Street through an old building with wooden floors.

I was never a big fan of the Myer Centre ramp in this picture either, it would be good if the new building sorted that out.

Ok, a decent design, but goddamnit! I wanted to see something 300m+ on this site! It is bigger enough to accomodate something that tall. Hopefully this will fall through because of too much office space coming onto the market.
Not too bad. Very bulky as well. !!!!
Don't whinge. 120 metres is still good for Brisbane.
nah, i'm gonna whinge. That's a disgusting underuse of a prime CBD site. It's way too big to be wasted on a 120m box. This should be the site of Brisbane Central Mk II or something ;)
BTW the easment from Charlotte Street to Elizabeth Street that is currently being used as an access to the carpark will be turned into a pedestrian laneway access.
looks massive. DeBreef are about to start on 1-9 bligh st in Sydney which is set to be one of australia;s finest office towers. the 40st/140m eliptical tower will have a viod entire height and clear facade with twin skins. Ingenhoven architects from Germany won the design comp.
i love this design. if its gonna be boxy, im glad its clad in glass too bad its not taller but at least its gonna be a 100% improvement on the crap thats there now.
i hope this stays proposed and then sunk and then a tower that can properly use the site can be erected.

i think you guys might be catching the post Eureka/Q1 traumatic disorder? lol
Everyone thought they would get an influx of 300m+ towers in melb and GC and thus far theres not much half that height going up or in pipeline.
Q1 and Eureka really are one off skyscrapers for there city. They may get as high in future but not for many years.
Have to be happy with 200m+ towers for now.
I think it looks quite good. Most of these projects seem to get revised taller these days.

Ok, fine, a 200m+ tower. Not this 137m version. Add at least another 70m on top of it until I am happy. Other than that, it at least looks decent enough. I do hate to think what the back wall looks like though.
^^ yeah i would throw up if the entire back side is concrete! hopfully it isnt and theyve used a little imagination. hopefully some more height will be added as well. im sick of buidlings with the same height being built beside each other.
eg) De Breef / Charlotte Towers, Festival / M on Mary, Northbridge / 400 George. I know there are height differences between them, but not enough to make them stand out from the skyline
