drew up this diagram with the tallest buildings in Queensland in 2008/9. All scrapers are over 150m and are either built, uc or proposed.
Brisbane has 11 towers while Surfers pd has 6.
Brissy has currently 2 scrapers over 150m. (CP & Waterfront). Surfers PD has just 1 completed- Skyline North.
Brissy has 3 (150m+) currently uc, while Surfers Pd also has 3 (150m+) uc.
Planned scrapers of 150m+ for Brisbane totals 6, while Surfers PD has just 2 planned (Soul & Dolphin1).
Surfers PD tend to have its bulk of apartment towers between 100-150m.
just think out of these 17 skyscrapers, none existed in 1987.

im pretty sure it had one planned at 285m? approx?
then it was chopped to 250m, now its level with 246m roof.

Austcorp are lodging a DA to extend the spire.
Read the Vision thread.

Note: City Plaza has apparantly been scrapped cull.

Ooooh I didn't know that they were applying to extend the spire. I hope it gets approved. Vision looks much better with the long spire IMO.

Top diagram as usual. The GC transit centre could shake it up a bit. And we still hold hope for Emerald's resurrection.

thanx guys. i just muck around with CORELDRAW. I was going to add in Transit but maybe when ist an actual DA. Also not sure what to do with Emerald? i might wait until they lodge there new DA at 200m?
malt-didnt know abot city plaza. bugger.
i might email Visions architect to ask about spire. i too would like it with some spire, not as long as Qs but 20m or so would be suffice.
what an amzing line up of skyscrapers. only 3 office towers.

Yep, they're amazing diagrams you've got there! really shows how they add up and compare to another. (especially Brisbane)

buggered if I could ever figure out Coreldraw though :lol:

what do you mean by that?

Should there be more? Or is brisbane not in a boom at this current time?

^ meaning that the 17 or so skyscrapers are fab designs. and its amzing how only a couple are office towers. Waterfront,CP & Brsibane Sq. (i suppose Riparian is half office).There will be more office towers. Brisbane has best office vacancy rate in Australia atm.so there is a b00m now but atm its the apartments being built with office towers next.

cool, so brisbane seems quite consistent with its building, its just that i spose it switches between res and comm a bit. I can't wait for the day when all of the CBD is packet with towers, the only problem is that queen st is stopping it from looking totally full in the skyline.

^ I downloaded it and had a go.
It isnt hard to work out/use
but it does take a bit of skill (as does any art)
