This really doesn't come as a surprise to me. It's Calgary lol.

This is in the wrong forum though ;)
The Tantra? Fuuuuuuck. No wonder the dnb scene is still creeping along there.
That's too bad...What's Calgary's diversity like...? I know Banff is ridiculously Chinese but I don't know much more.
Sad that this type of thing goes on.
I think it’s great that this new has been put in front of us.

I think Calgary might be going through a change in its social structure. I am not aware of how diverse Calgary’s population is, but I am guessing that it not as multicultural as Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver.

Either way, maybe Calgary is starting to realize that it’s no longer a monocultural society, but a multicultural society, and the first step in solving a problem is identifying it. In that sense, I am happy to see this.

Can I cite this video when people in Canadia get uppity about race relations in the US?
Sure, but we would site 1000000000000000 cases about USA! :p
The weird thing is that there is no direct racism in this video...

One city in Canada does not = Canada.

Uhmm... yeah, sure DonQui. You need all the ammunition you can get! Let us know if we can help in any other way!
maybe some cut rate sedatives to help you relax! :)

Which makes it even worse :bash:

Calgary is not the only city with this problem too...
One city in Canada does not = Canada.
A handful of situations in Calgary does not = Calgary
Actually, Calgary is the 3rd most multicultural city in Canada based on recent statistics, behind only Toronto and Vancouver, but that's besides the point. My experience has been that this goes one all over the country, although I'm in no position to state whether it's worse in one place than another.

I never have been to Calgary, but I never have seen it marketed as a multicultural society.

There is a difference between having a multicultural society, and a society that has it and embraces it. In terms of Calgary, I really do not know… From what I hear though, its not good news. If this is not true, then the city should take some initiative to get a better rep.

I disagree with you on account of the city itself being responsible for bettering its reputation. While I do think Calgary can help itself by running initiatives to discourage racism, there's only so much a city can do. Not judging one by colour or religion is a choice that each Calgarian must make by his or herself. It's as simple - in the most relative way possible - as that.

racially diverse does not mean having 20% of asians and the rest being white-"canadians" hehehe

or rather, there's a difference between a multicultural society and a mult-racial society, Calgary.
