The Rugby club began playing on the site in 1921, but the first permanent seats were built in 1936. It was a dual purpose Baseball/Football facility, which gave it a diagonal orientation.

Proud to say I watched my first CFL game in person at Taylor Field many years ago.

Proud to say I watched my first CFL game in person at Taylor Field many years ago.

Me too. Stood at the base of Hemorrhoid Hill, standing on the goal line. Aug 27, 1993 vs the Sacramento Gold Miners and David Archer.... Riders stormed back in the 4th with 16 unanswered points to win 26-23.

For the life of me I can't find video of that game on youtube, Stadium seating was around 27,000 at the time, attendance for that game was over 33,000, I recall the fans storming the field after the game.... I may or may not have imbibed that day..... :)
