Inflation in China is actually actually quite modest in recent years, it's the housing prices that's with life hell for most people, which of course is asset appreciation. Since you buying a house is a investment (though future mother in laws don't see it that way, but it is), as you can always rent (which remained low in most cities except Beijing).
