These featured documents are early examples of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects in the 19th century. The magazine El Telegrafista Español is a general electrical magazine that contains illustrations of physical cabinets, telegraphic lines, wires, cables and conductors. The Telefonos on the other hand, is an outline map for the location of the Guadalupe Telephone Station in 1885.
In the Philippines today, PPP can be defined as partnerships or agreements between the government and private companies to work on setting up projects such as electricity, communications, infrastructure facilities, and other services that were provided by the public sector.
These records were among the documents featured by the National Archives of the Philippines in an exhibit held at the Department of Finance (DOF) in celebration of their 125th founding anniversary.
