Planned Skerjafjörður project in Reykjavík, next to the domestic airport. If the airport is removed like the city council majority intends,
this would become a part of a much larger neighbourhood. This development is also a part of the plan to make Reykjavík more urban and less car-centric than it is today.

This is how the main building of the new hospital complex in Reykjavík (right next to the old one) is going to look like. This building will house the "conventional" aspects of the hospital, like emergency, surgical and medical wards. Work on the site has started and this building is scheduled to open in 2024.

This complex is actually finished 😊 for like a year or so. Unfortunately not so many people rented out offices, retail spaces nor bought apartments there. Kinda ghost city at the moment. Hopefully once the rest of the developments will be finished this will be vibrant part of the city.

Two of the main development areas in Reykjavik right now - Vogabyggð (project started) and Ártúnshöfði (not yet started); with a total of almost 6.000 new apartments. Here two old industrial sites will be developed into green housing areas. The industry will move onto the periphery of the city.
