hell of an awesome city…kind of like Charleston and Birmingham combined. i had a great time, nice people, plenty to do, it didn't break my wallet, nice old city feel.

Richmond is the capital of the state of Virginia and sadly often overshadowed by nearby Washington D.C.

enough with my babble, on with the pics, mostly commentary free.

Wow just incredible. Good job LSyd.

Are both of the skyline shots from Church Hill? I know the second one is.

edit:

I just got a little bit of a shock. I was going to say, you really need to come and see OKC and Tulsa--I think you would have a hey day with some grit on the north side and in Capitol Hill--but I thought, "Just screw it...it's never gonna happen."

I scrolled up and you can imagine seeing your location set as "OKLAHOMA!" that really surprised me, for the best. Let me be the very, very first on the Internet to welcome you to Native America! Are you here for good or just visiting in OKC or Tulsa?

Great job! That building in picture no. 1 is very impressive! Is it the city hall or something?

thanks y'all.

SRG, i'm here temporarily (until july.) i visited OKC last weekend and drove around a good deal, taking in the grit, including the area by the capitol. i didn't take many pics b/c i was exhausted, but i've got all summer. thanks for the welcome.

Petersmith, yeah, she was. i got another pic or two of them taking my pic.

DenverDane, that was the old city hall. the new one's the modern high rise on the left:

Well take yer time. If I might recommend a nice gritty area, try Capitol Hill, the area south of the river, between Walker and Robinson aves. Be sure 'n post 'em in the Midwest forum and on the Oklahoma forum for sure. While I hope you're enjoying the gritty areas of our fair city, I sure hope you aren't staying there. lol
