Hi Maxxam,

I wouldn't say that Salvador is experiencing a construction boom, although there is a lot of activity there, more than the national average. I don't have any numbers but perhaps some other forumer might have.

Like in all Brazilian cities, there isn't a very well developed mass transportation system (at least nothing really extense), but I know that there is some subway lines projected for the next years. Salvador is served by many different bus lines though.

I like Salvador because it is a unique city under Brazilian standards. Most of the population is black (and not mestizo or caucasoid), the topography is awesome and the architectural heritage is just gorgeous.

a few more questions

1. Is there many busy beaches near Salvador?

2. Is Salvador a richer or poorer city than the national average?

3. Any population growth figures?

Here are the answers:

1. There are many busy beaches near Salvador and along the coast of Bahia (Salvador is the capital city of the state of Bahia). Some of the beaches in Bahia are considered Brazil's finest, such as Trancoso.

2. Salvador is poorer than the national average, although the state of Bahia is growing very fast in the past few years.

3. I don't have that info now. I will check that later.

Algum soteropolitano poderia ajudar?
