The view from the Santa Barbara Courthouse tower was terrifying Tuesday afternoon. Hands-down the biggest smoke plume we have seen since the Zaca Fire began in early July, the billowing cloud was caused by a patch of previously unburned wilderness – located well behind containment lines near Little Pine Mountain – being engulfed by flames.

I'm confused. Isn't this suppose to be a thread ranking skylines? Those pictures show no buildings taller than a two-storied house.

Skyline - 0/10
Scenery - 8/10

i went to santa barbara for a week two years ago.

i had read that it was the "Nice of California" so i was majorly dissapointed.

the city is so small and boring. it doesnt feel like a city of 80 000 people at all..

also, the water is way too call for swimming.. my friend bet me 100 dollars if i swam in it for 10 minutes, but i didnt bother. it was freaking freezing in the middle of the summer!

all cities can look good in postcards.. this place is definitely not getting a high score from me.
