Satellite Cities?

what do you think about these new cities? will they work? are they the solution for our urban dense areas? and if you would of been asked to suggest an alternative what would you offer?

also do we plan for these things well?

Most of them have an ultra urban city centre and surrounded by short residential towers and villas. the green areas are massive. and it also have other facilities like hospitals, schools universities and entertaining facilities. the only thing I can think of that would be negative is the transport. they need an internal transport system and fact, efficient and clean transport between them and Industrial cities around them. Ooh also alot of them are expensive so they might be the down side of solving the dense problem in industrial cities. but some of them are very nice and cheap.

Also should the government build couple of mega cities like these and give them houses to slums also provide them jobs and then they can pay back the government slowly. I mean these cities can be built by the government easily by our tax money right?

So what do you think overall?

Do we need a poll or should it be only discussion thread?
In my own opinion, its a ''must'' project because Egypt population is increasing so fast that they have no solution than to create new cities.
I Know but if you look at it from a way these cities are closed by gates. why are they not open? I mean if you go anywhere in Europe or even in Canada you have the same thing but they are open. It first start with big investors building these cities and then the people own it and by time the city centre towers and shops/mall get sold too and they become part of the city not a new separate city.

and we need to expand into the desert by building in the desert and connecting it to other cities. not get for example at the edge of Cairo and build a city. we need to go more deep into the desert so the city evolve more naturally and you have a new city not 10 cities in one city

that if you have rich people in Cairo. so it's for Europeans and Americans and Gulf people. A tiny percentage are Egyptians.
