Everyone knows that after the onset of the revolution in Russia, many cities lost interesting buildings, monasteries and cathedrals. In this thread I will show some of them.

Strongly do not criticize) I did not make an exact copy, it's too difficult for me. In addition, the work is not completed. I plan to do everything in a month.

This is part of the Ascension Monastery in the Moscow Kremlin. Namely - the Cathedral of St. Catherine.

Ascension Monastery was founded in 1368. A church of St. Catherine was built from 1808 to 1817 years. During the Napalion attack on Moscow, construction was stopped. But the church almost did not suffer from the Moscow fires. And after the french were driven out, it was safely completed. It was demolished by the bolsheviks in 1929.

Now I'm working on color. Already 5 or 7 times painted the walls and again washed off the paint. I can not understand what I would like to see in the end

Tried different colors in the renderer. Also was not satisfied. Also, many small parts were also settled.

On the Internet, you can find many color variations. From white to blue and light green.

When I finish work on St. Catherine's temple in the Kremlin, I will start making the Sukharevskaya tower. It was also demolished by the bolsheviks in 1934.
Earlier photographs and renderings of the Ascension Monastery.

One of these days I will lay out fresh photos
STUNNING! :):)

What materials and techniques do you use? I'd love to see a step-by-step guide on how you'll finish this model or of the Sukharevskaya tower.

I continue experiments with color. This option I like, although it does not look like real. In reality, the cathedral was much lighter

Вознесенский монастырь. Церковь Святой Екатерины (Москва)
Maybe later I will make it brighter :coffee:

Thank you! :)
Technology and materials are combined. Here and milling of PVC panels, and 3d printing, and manual cutting with a knife ... I use ordinary paper for the dome and roof. Practically all the details I plant on the glue. But I make some details removable (so that later it would be easier to paint)

I lead the work on the glazing. After that I will work on lighting the facade

p/s/ sorry for the quality of the phone

until there are no new photos, so as not to miss)
