You philistines... I am so shocked.. You keep it pure, unadulterated. My Nan always made perfect scouse though, especially if left to be warmed through the next day.. so perhaps I was spoilt!

My Mum's scouse is phenomenal. The spuds in it taste fucking amazing, and the chunks of braising steak. It is such a tasty, nourishing and filling dish.

In our house you either have it on its own or with beetroot.
