Since the schedule came out yesterday and the draft is 2 weeks away, thought we might as well get this started.

Preseason schedule

Aug. 7-10 at Denver Broncos
Aug. 14-18 San Diego Chargers
Aug. 21-24 Chicago Bears
Aug. 28 at Oakland Raiders

Regular season schedule

Sept. 4: Green Bay Packers (Thu.)
Sept. 14: at San Diego Chargers
Sept. 21: Denver Broncos
Sept. 28: BYE
Oct. 6: at Washington Redskins (Mon.)
Oct. 12: Dallas Cowboys
Oct. 19: at St. Louis Rams
Oct. 26: at Carolina Panthers
Nov. 2: Oakland Raiders
Nov. 9: New York Giants
Nov. 16: at Kansas City Chiefs
Nov. 23: Arizona Cardinals
Nov. 27: at San Francisco 49ers (Thu.)
Dec. 7: at Philadelphia Eagles
Dec. 14: San Francisco 49ers
Dec. 21: at Arizona Cardinals*
Dec. 28: St. Louis Rams
*Subject to flex scheduling

Having a week 4 bye sucks. And I think it is kind of disrespectful that the defending champs only get 2 prime time games (with the possibility of the last Cards game is flexed to Sunday night) and NONE of those being at the Clink. I guess you can call the opening night game prime time, but still...

The last 8 weeks are going to be hell. While nothing is guaranteed in the NFL the NFC West is likely going to be the toughest division in football again. I can honestly see all 4 teams competing for the division title this year. We better go into that stretch at 9-0.

BTW, Seahawks vs Green Bay and vs San Francisco are the most expensive tickets on the secondary market right now. Also, Seahawks are the hottest draw when visiting as well, i.e. when Seattle is playing away games, they are averaging the most money at those stadiums, the Pats come in 2nd as the hottest visiting opponent draw.

So if you want tickets to opening night and vs SF, be willing to shell out over $500 per ticket.

I read an article claiming the reason we have no prime time games at home is because they are all blowouts which are poor for ratings. lol.

This is a tough schedule though! They're going to need the same fire and desire they had last season if they want to win the NFCW again. They also will need relatively few injuries and some new guys to step up and take over where a few guys left the team.

Week 4 bye is really too bad, especially with that gauntlet second half of the season.

Oh well, the defending champs now need to defend the championship.

I think they're still hungry. I heard the word 'dynasty' several times from the players, and I don't think they were talking Alexis and Crystal.
The 49ers game on Thanksgiving night is going to be excellent. Big meal, big game, big drunk.
Thanks for starting the thread, hawks season never really ends!

Can't wait for the draft! Good off season so far, hear we will be extending Sherm soon, Bennett and haush back, Carroll re-uped, only a couple pieces of the core left and we will have successfully retained them all!

Also the miners off season is giving me a ton of schadenfreude!

Go hawks!

Edit- yeah, turkey day is going to be EPIC this year!

Did their headlamps go dim? Canary die down in coal mine?
Haha, stupid auto correct.

But the "niners" are going to have a down year I think, they are imploding.
Yes! They locked up Thomas. 4 year extension, $40M with $27M guaranteed. I think that makes him the highest paid safety ever or near so. And that is on top of his final year of his rookie contract, so we have him for 5 years.

On to Sherman now.
Paying a safety that much isn't a good thing IMO. I'm a little worried for their future.
Thomas is widely regarded as the best safety in the league and its those skills which make most of the Hawks defensive schemes possible. In 4 seasons, he's played in all 64 games, he's been to three Pro Bowls and had two first-team All-Pro years. Most agree that he on pace for a Hall of Fame career.

And we have to remember that the cap is going to be raised in 2015 upward to ~$160 million. We have some wiggle room right now, next year the Seahawks will have a lot of space.

Thomas is what makes the Seattle defense work, worth every penny.
Earl Thomas isn't just any other safety. As Ruff mentioned, he's the top player at his position.
I also think Kam is the top SS in the league as well, they compliment each other so well.
It would appear to me that the NFL is punishing the Seahawks for WINNING the Superbowl

Seriously, WTF is up with our schedule...Week 4 bye? and ONLY TWO prime time games?

Slap in the face if you ask me...

Keep disrespectin' and we'll keep representin'

There are 4 Primetime games.

vs Green Bay opener
at Washington (MNF)
at SF thanksgiving night
at Arizona (SNF)

People are saying they didn't give the hawks primetime games at home because they smack people and the rest of the country loses interest. I agree the hawks got screwed, i mean the giants and jets have 4 MNF games combined, those teams are trash, and the hawks had more wins last season than both those teams combined.

That's the luxury of playing in the nation's largest media market (New York City). The NFL is a business looking to capitalize on their most lucrative opportunities.

My friend told me the NFL sets it up this way intentionally to try to maintain parity. The top teams in the NFL from the previous season get the hardest schedules. We won the Super Bowl last year and our schedule next year is a f***ing gauntlet.

He's a diehard Seahawks fan so I think he knows his stuff. I haven't heard or read it anywhere else however.

If national ratings are so low because of the whoopings laid down at CLink then I can't necessarily blame the networks for passing us up. It is pretty lame though.
