Shit handover ceremony. Probably as bad, if not worse, than the Melbourne 2006 presentation at Manchester 2002. At least we have the excuse of it being eight years ago.

The inflatable Auditorium was a total rip off of the inflatable Sydney Opera House at the closing ceremony of Atlanta 1996. The building already echoes the SOH enough as it is.

Obviously very dated, but far more impressive for its time, than say, the 2012 handover in Beijing.

Are there going to be special events at the next Commonwealth Games to take advantage of the local residents' specialised knife skills?

Why are you so obsessed with British sporting events? Aren't you from Jersey, that irrelevant shithole that is basically France?
Us Brits love our sports - as for my home island, it has one of biggest
growth rate's in western Europe, and half of Aus lives here!

( come over for tax avoidance ) and one richest places in Europe after switzerland and monaco lichtenstein.

Oh - I see. I must have under the misunderstanding that knives are the necessary accessory of any self-respecting local on Glaswegian streets. My mistake.

The philosophical riddle of a tree falling in a forest has made me question if the commonwealth games even exist. Though perhaps they can be observed indirectly through the sheer gravitational pull of all that mediocrity?

I don't know, it keeps me up at night wondering.

Like the recent disaster that is of the Delhi games, I will only watch the opening and closing ceremonies. Commie games just a poor mans Olympics.

Firstly, I LOVE Glasgow. One of Europe's best cities. Ridiculously fun.

But that Clyde Centre thing is hideous up close. An interesting design, but executed with terrible materials.
