My impression is the following: For korean forumers is better to avoid to create new threads about this kind of projects until the tower is under its half construction.

Serious: I hope this tower will be constructed soon. I'm not fan of the area selected between the two artificial-mountain-parks-former-garbage-area but...

Ther article just says that one of the participating companies said that the height of the building should be re-concidered, without any further details about what he exactly means with that.

Please don't panic. Its just an opinon of one of the many participating companies.
Greenland China still wants to invest, and Seoul Government welcomes the investment from China. Seoul Government wants the 640m (at least the article doesn't say anything different!)

so please don't panic, everything is okay.

Next meeting with real estate experts is on November 26.
Essential sentence in the article:
"하지만 DMC 입지 여건과 사업비 등을 고려할 때 100층 이상으로 짓는 것은 현실적으로 불가능하다는 게 업계 관계자들의 중론이다. "

--> "Industry officials think that everything above 100 floors is economically not feasable in DMC area."

If they want someone to build it, they probably have to reduce the height to make it feasable. Sad but true :( Economy sucks, investment is difficult.
Its hard to build a supertall if korean companies don't want to build it. I don't know how the mayor can change that?

Actually I'm happy and even a bit suprised that they still even consider building this. So I'm quite excited about this project and I'm looking forward to what they will do in the end! :)


PS: And Seoul can be proud that there are even 3 districts where supertalls can be built! Many other cities only have 1 or 2 districts. `

SANGAM DMC landmark site is for SUPERTALL of seoul not normal tall.
This land is property of seoul citizens for built symbol of seoul. If seoul government to built belwo 100fl then it is a serious breach of duty. So that reason Now civil NGO prepare a file a suit against seoul mayor for they BREACH OF DUTY!

I'm not attacking you, it was just my opinion in this discussion :)

it's simple: my first post was 13 days ago, where much less information was available. now they had meetings and apparently more and more korean companies think that over 100 floors are not feasable. thats what what's written in the article.

seoul government started the public offering for a 640m building (=they wanted/accepted that height), but now they struggle to find companies who want to build it (except greenland china), so they might have to lower the height. sounds reasonable.

That's how i understand it, and i understand if korean companies think that 130 floors are too expensive to make profit :)

anyway, nothing is fixed yet, so we don't know for sure yet.

Something like 70~99 floors office or mixed use tower is still a supertall. It's like 320m~450m, so it's still really tall. Be happy :) it's not canceled, but still a supertall :)

No SANGAM DMC land is seoul citizen's property for built seoul's symbol
So that reason this land is supply to construction company with almost FREE price.($0.4 billions.......compare with HYUNDAI HQ $10 BILLIONS)

If they built under 100fl, then it seriously a breach of duty. This is complicated legal problem.

So, if this agreement is signed, does it definitely (assuming "definitely" even means something in the world of skyscraper building) close the doors on other investors, including the Saudi National Fund? Or could Seoul still shop around offers until they settle and select the winning investor?

-today about 2~30 news and journal report about landmark
-journal report that there is no korean company who investment this project due to economical feasibility
-some of them worry about green house alone participated on competitive bid
-journal worry that if seoul government modified the TERMS of competitive bid as below 100 floor, then it will be serious special favor to the china company.
-Because If this tower under 100fl then economical feasibility increased and tremendous profit belong to foreign company.

If Greenland is taking this project on. I expect nothing but the best from them. An AS+GG design will look great in Seoul!

they were proposal awesome in yongsan ibd.

Green house of china chariman announced that to investment $ 3~4 billions in seoul landmark project

he interviews with korean journal and say "We gonna invest another seoul project which good condition project.(I guess YONGSAN IBD). But yangje terminal is under suffer with complicated administration. so that project except.
We implantation about 20 china big company into this landmark offce. especially i WILL contacted with alibaba.com. Because seoul is very important city not only in Asia but also in the world."

-but according to the sources there is possibility that this tower decreased to 7~80fl.

also now SAUDI national fund seriously considering whether to investment on this project or not.

-there is no korean company interesting in this project

-official this project's allowing height is 656m height

-seoul considering decreased height. not yet confirm<== but my opinions how 7~80fl tower can seoul's landmark?
even infront of sangam DMC this project site PARC1 of yeiudo over 300m tower existence.
also lotte tower 123fl 7~80fl is ordinary height in seoul:nuts::bash:

Yesterday chairman of green house of china met SAMSUNG electronics's head Mr yoon bu gun

there is no detail story about this meeting but it known that green house ask to supply TV refrigerator of samsung's product into green house's making building(hotel, resort etc) all around the world.

my personal guess green house invest money+samsung construction will be built sangam seoulite tower. (as consortium)

so maybe this tower lower than petronas twin tower of malysia

Some news worry about seoul government closed connection with greenland of china.

Because SAUDI NATIONAL FUND have a plan to participated on this project.

but Seoul agreement with china company. So SAUDI isolation by seoul.
