Kerasbolanesia - The Serbian national team showed themselves with a steel mentality against the Portugal national team and were not intimidated by the big name Cristiano Ronaldo. Coming back from two goals down to equalize in the World Cup qualifier on Sunday morning 28 March 2021 and take a point from Portugal.

If we only watch the results of the first half only on Sunday morning at the Rajko Mitic Stadium. In Belgrade there was the impression that Liverpool's Diogo Jota had been the hero of the Selecao, scoring twice in the first half of the game. Minutes 11 and 36.

But it was precisely here that the persistence of Dragan Stojkovic's squad emerged. The manager brought in two fresh players at the start of the second half of the game, one of whom was Hertha Berlin midfielder Nemanja Radonjic.

It proved to be the right choice with him providing the assist for Aleksandar Mitrovic's first reply, before when Radonjic again provided the assist for the 2nd goal by Filip Kostic. The score is similar 2-2 strong while this World Cup qualifying match still has 30 minutes remaining.

The statistics show how Serbia changed from the start in the first 45 minutes as the Selecao unleashed six attempted attacks. Together with two right on target against Marko Dmitrovic, to strengthen the defense and turn it into just three attacking chances and nil shots on target.

In contrast, the Eagles themselves increased the number of attacks from the previous seven times in the first half, up to nine times. From the very beginning just one shot on target became four shots on goal in the second half, with two of them turning into goals.

This is the 2nd successive run to avoid defeat for Stojkovic's men after the previous 3-2 win over the Republic of Ireland. What is the homework for the manager is how easily Serbia concedes two goals in each game. Luck doesn't end in losing.

Serbia vs Portugal Results

Meanwhile for Portugal, after only scoring one goal in the first World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan. The Selecao failed to register a win despite scoring twice as many goals as in the first leg through Jota.

Serbia with this result means that it has succeeded in protecting the "tradition" they have played in seven of their last 10 competitive matches. Generates more than 3.5 goals generally per game.

The Eagles are still counting on being able to bounce back in their last two matches. One thing that Cristiano Ronaldo and friends should know.

The CR7 captain was credited with the first goal via pre-assist to Bernardo Silva. Who sent a cross to the far post and was easily headed by Jota.

Meanwhile a similar style took place for the 2nd goal after Cedric Soares sent a cross in front of the goal that Jota had in his way.
