I never knew there was an observation/communications tower in Shepparton until I saw these pics:

Anybody have any idea how high it is?

ah of course. the Sheparton telstra tower.ive got this in my tallest structure list. I looked it up at and i have it listed as 76m/250ft tall (ob deck-35m accessed by 160 steps). It was built 1967-68. its a beauty! i wish all regional towns had one of these. Ive found alot of towns have these which were buitl in mid to late 60's. all of them seem to be 61m or 76m (200ft-250ft tall. but this one is first ive seen with an ob deck.
Wollongong has a 61m tower,The Entrance-61m, Port macquatie-76m. all look similar.
thanks for top pix grol./

i visited lovely Port Macquarie last year (north coast of NSW). The township is dominated by the 76m /250ft Telstra tower.

Nope... it has those widely spaced support wires/cables. Don't have accurate height figures on the comms tower in town but is around 10metre or so high than the Shepparton's "Eiffel tower".

Its not open to the public, when I was in Shep in November it was closed.
There's not much to look at - that city is seriously a DUMP.
