WTF? That's not a stage in the GC's history we should be honouring!I think it should be preserved as a heritage site - perfectly representative of Skasey and the excesses of the 1980s.
Marina Mirage and Sheraton Mirage together though would be quite large, as by the sounds of it, he is wanting both.Wouldn't be an overly large casino would it? The Sheraton Mirage has never struck me as being a particularly large complex.
If Tony Fung manages to get these proposals up, maybe he'll end up being the next big player in Australia's Casino industry?
Although disconnected somewhat by Seaworld Drive, the potential is still huge. Especially if they get approval for a decent size building/tower.It is understood the Marina Mirage site would be re-developed into a new waterfront convention centre, dining, shopping and entertainment destination - with upgraded superyacht berthing facilities.
Have I? The article specifically says several times that he is looking to redevelop the Sheraton Mirage (in Main Beach) into a casino resort. It then says insiders suggest his purchase of the Sheraton Mirage hinges on a casino licence being granted and he is in ongoing talks with the Queensland Government over a casino licence.^^ I think you have your projects mixed up. Mr Fung never had anything to do with the Wave Break island proposal, he is currently in talks regarding the Aquis Proposal in Cairns and the acquisition of the current Casino there.
