Cosco Tower and The Centre were redeveloped from the older areas of Sheung Wan district. Even with the redevelopment activity, the district still is abundant with older buildings. Here are some photos showing this contrast :

Nice photos! Sheung Wan is one of my favorite districts in HK. That little plaza near the Cosco building with the big screen outdoor TV is very nice. The jam-packed alleyways are pretty cool. And the first segment of the escalators is interesting too. Some great restaruants around there.
It's weird that The Centre is located in Sheung Wan, but its Chinese name implies that it is in the centre of Central. Shouldn't it be called Sheung Wan Centre?
