Former prime minister John Howard has had shoes thrown at him during an episode of the ABC's Q and A.

Mr Howard appeared unfazed by the incident, in which two shoes were thrown at him by a woman.

"Forget it, forget it," he told the show’s host Tony Jones after the protester failed to hit her target.

The woman walked out of the studio immediately after throwing the shoes.

More to come.

LOL - serves the old **** right.

No doubt there will be howls of protest from that west australian forumer - I can't remember his name, but he is a snivelling liberal party apologist.

And the guy obviously didnt intend to hit him it went nowhere near him was done as a statement not to cause physical harm. Past Australian PM's are so unseemly tho - they need to take the American route, stay out of party politics to a degree and just support the country. As for Howard, he struck me as a little sad really, and quite shallow. The fack the guy can't admit not just getting the apology over and done with is ridiculous! All the claims he made against doing it have been proven to be wrong, yet he still can't change an opinion on anything! Maybe it takes time and perspective, Keating still is a raving fool too - Malcolm Fraser at least has some depth in his retirement commentary.
