It must be a bitch to know your house may get bought at more than top dollar for development. My Mom and stepdad sold their house and property for a development that included Lowe's hardware in Bellingham. I think they got ~125-145% of the appraised value of the property. The folks in Shoreline will find a way to assuage their wounds.
Two things I like about this is it gives Shoreline a sense of place. Right now I couldn’t really tell you when I entered or left Shoreline, it’s always been up there somewhere. Another thing I like is the structures opening up immediately onto the park. It would make sidewalk cafes so enjoyable without looking at a row of parked cars, street, then park. I think that Bellevue downtown park would be able to do this in their eastern border, but hasn’t seemed to pull it off yet.
