Anyone here tired of Wal-Mart opening up supercentres up in the suburbs and the factories closing to move to Mexico (Hershey)? I think it is time for NAFTA to go. Clearly it is a threat to our Canadian identity.
It's kind of inevitable that we trade as much as we do with the US due to geography and the fact they are such a huge market. I'd like to see Canada expanding it's trade further with Europe so we don't depend on the US as much. Perhaps also expanding it's trade within the Commonwealth which is historically familiar, and a gigantic market to tap into. See India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Australia, Nigeria, SA, etc.
well what's amazing is the US economy is doing terribly at the moment, and usually when it does this bad we feel it too (the elephant rolls over the mouse), but this time around we haven't felt anything and are doing quite well ourselves. it's weird.
