This is my first thread and I apologize if something like this has been done before but here goes anyway...

Below there are 20 silhouettes belonging to some of Britain’s most famous and most recognizable towers.
The challenge is for you all to try and identify each building, and which city it is located in.
None of them are to the same scale hopefully making it a little more difficult.

The aim of this test is to see which particular buildings are most famous.
To make this as fair as possible, I would like your answers messaged to me privately rather then everyone posting them on the thread.

Most of them are really easy but there’s a couple which will get you thinking.
All the buildings displayed are either complete or nearing the end of construction.
When lots of people have had a go, I’ll post the correct answers and results.

Below is an example of how you should set out your answers...

1. The Rotunda. Birmingham
2. West Riding House. Leeds
3. 1 Churchill Place. London

And so on down to number 20

The test is out of 40 with one mark for a correct building name and one mark for a correct city name.

The silhouette of number 15 resembles a giant stir-fry wok on a porta-stove with some cooking implements sticking into it. Haven't the foggiest what it is though.

17 is surely Trellick Tower?

I've got a great view of that (well, most of west london to be honest) from my office window.

Yeh, you're probably right, I struggled with that one. What the hell is number 7 though :dunno:

2. One Canada Square London
3. B.T Tower London
4. Holloway Circus Tower Birmingham
5. C.I.S Tower Manchester
6. Saint Mary’s Axe London
7. Beetham Tower Liverpool
8. B.T Tower Birmingham
9. Beetham Tower Manchester
10. Joseph Chamberlain Clock Tower Birmingham
11. Houses of parliament London
12. Elmley Moor Transmitter Huddersfield
13. Alpha Tower Birmingham
14. Tower 42 London
15. Wembley Stadium London

19. Radio City Tower Liverpool
20. Angel Of The North ''GATESHEAD'' - well done to Martin G for noticing the deliberate error made earlier :applause:

So from 2 peoples results, it seems that Birminghams and Manchesters Beethams are as recognisable as each other.
However, by including this...

Surely number 9 is our own beloved Natwest tower?
...then it seems our own Holloway cirus tower is king of the Beethams, from a pro Birmingham perspective.

Sorry to be pedantic again VH but the Angel of the North is definitely NOT in Newcastle - but Gateshead. Newcastle lies to the NORTH BANK of the River Tyne. Everything south of the river is Gateshead. It's as incorrect as saying Birkenhead and Liverpool lie on the wrong sides of the River Mersey. :nono: ;)

I agree, it is in Gateshead or a field near Low Eighton to be more precise. I put Newcastle as the answer, to see if any of you noticed as a kind of encore challenge to the silhouette quiz. :|

I do hope you will all forgive me, especially you Martin G. Afterall, i've already let you down before with that outrageously incorrect picture of Birmingham. :wink2:
