That southern aspect doesn't have the best street frontage but the northern side is alot more open. To be fair all that concrete will do wonders dampening the street noise. With the light from the north and relative quite inside for the area they should be nice to live in.
 
I don’t doubt they will be nice to live in. After all these are ‘curated’ apartments from award winning architects.

I just don’t think it’s an attractive building from the outside. Like gutterclub said it looks like a data centre.

The fact that it’s on an arterial is not a reasonable excuse for me either. Plenty of mid rise apartment buildings in other cities that are attractive inside and out.
