Maybe potential for the bt tower to be converted but I'd rather more tall buildings have a portion open to the general public like 103 will
I actually think this would be great. Together we a redevelopment opening the canal below it could be a nice addition and spur development in the area. I'd quite like a Museum of Birmingham, as in the history of Birmingham and the West Midlands, here. I think it would provide a good bridge from city centre to JQ and link up with the canal to BrindleyPlace and Mailbox, quite tourist friendly. The BT Tower must be almost redundant by now. I think it should be converted in to an observation tower / restaurant / nightclub.

Thanks, LiverOdysea. If you don't work for Birmingham City Council, you should!!! :cheers:I actually think this would be great. Ideally, that resi block over the canal would've been demolished, those office blocks would be replaced with modern offices and BT would make way for a 200m+ landmark.
But this is Birmingham, so we get shoddy refurbs and eyesore concrete stumps.
It's certainly not the most attractive building, but that's exactly what our predecessors said about Victorian/Geogrgian/Tudor architecture.I wouldn't want the BT Tower to go. It's an important part of our history. Better to convert it into something else. A sky bar and restaurant would be great. There could be hotel rooms in the tower as well.
