So what are some small cities that base most of their economy on tourism? Also these cities cannot be attached to a metropolitain region. It has to be by itself far from a major city. What I mean are cities like Wisconsin Dells, and Branson. Got any others?

Asheville, NC
Myrtle Beach, SC
Portland, ME; Wilmington, NC (I can't believe you didn't mention that one triadcat!) Traverse City, MI; Sandusky, OH (Cedar Rapids); Santa Barbara,CA; Cape Cod, MA; And probably hundreds more I can't think of right now.
Victoria, BC. It's in Canada but it's a downtown-to-downtown ferry ride from Seattle and a common weekend trip for people here.
Definatly Portland, Maine also Mt Shasta, California
Yeah, there's definitely tons of them. Williamsburg, VA even though it's tied to a metro, I think I can count that one, Frankenmuth, MI, If you count the beach towns, than the list is very very long.
Helen, Georgia
Hilton Head
Cape Hatteras, NC
Destin, Florida--my personal fave small tourist
Ocean Shores, Alabama
Biloxi, Mississippi
Natchez,MS
vicksburg, MS
Fort Walton Beach, Florida
St Augustine.
Fernandina Beach.
Key West.

Sandusky, OH (Cedar Rapids);
I never knew that Cedar Rapids was in Ohio nor did I know it was such a large tourism center. Then again I am not as well traveled as the Carolina Kid.

Oh come now, I know the schools down south are pretty bad, and I know the kid isn't the sharpest cheese in the dairy case, but even he would not spell Point, R-A-P-I-D-S.

Not all schools are bad down south. We have some good ones in the larger cities :sleepy:
Indeed, I meant cedar point. And for the love of crap susie.... where do you like? You always diss the hell out of Rochester and now you are calling the South stupid. At least I can do simple 3rd grade math and don't think That Raleigh is thoudsands of miles from Rochester or that 27k is half of 42k. Why don't you get a life (and a calculator!)

Hey Susie; what do you get when you add 1 part dotard; + 2 parts bitter old hag, and 1 part fat lazy housefwife? the un4getable Susie.
Tarpon Springs, FL

I have been to Wisconsin Dells. Brings back good memories and not so good memories. But I like all the family activities it has.
The Florida Keys come to mind.

Not only did she diss the south, but she was pretty rude to you.

She seems to be a bitter person :sleepy:
lol. Go into the Rochester thread in the NE forum and that would be VERY evident.
The Wisconsin Dells. There are more people in some of the hotels than there are in the entire town.

God, I've been hearing people here in Chicago talking about the Dells and how great they are since I was a kid, but I've never been there. Not once! It's like the top vacationing spot for Chicagoans. The toilet water slide sounds like so much fun! :mad2:
