This thread is for the development of two plots of land in the Pumpfields area, south of Paul Street, north of Naylor Street, and straddling Oriel Street. Both sites are currently used for surface car parking. The plans call for the redevelopment of both sites with 8 blocks residential blocks ranging from 5 to 13 storeys, comprising 427 apartments on the upper floors, with 14 commercial units of the ground floor. The plans also call for the proposed public realm around the bases of the blocks to continue across Oriel Street, to provide a unified area of landscaping.

The pre-application advice from the council was that the tallest structure they would support here would be 11 storeys (the lowest section of Freemasons Row), but a re-organisation of the heights of the other blocks away from the Leeds Street side to provide a subtle stepping down in height has seen the developer push for 12 storeys. The applicant is listed as Smith Young Architecture Limited, although it is likely they are working on behalf of a client.

The only way I can see that working Bugged, is if they're actively targeting small businesses in the local area about to be displaced by developments already in the pipeline.
