Their legacies were very similar; they came in and made their countries better than the way they were, they just didn't prepare their people for life after they departed, this is a common problem under dictatorships. I personally never understood the negativity about Siad Barre, then again I lived in Baladweyn (the city seen above) and it was one of the parts of the country where Siyaad had great admirers. My parents were one of those people, so was I; both of my parent's came from rebellious clans, and even when Siyaad was executing my mother's cousins she still supported the president. Life was good, I can't say anything negative about the men, he gave me a wonderful country to grow up in.
