Baladweyn looks nice, it is hardly recognizable from the time I lived there in the 80s.

Below are some villas from Garowe in the Puntland region, and I have to agree with Ras-Siyan that this is a strange town in that its small but has not allowed its size to dictate the sophistication of its growth.

Their legacies were very similar; they came in and made their countries better than the way they were, they just didn't prepare their people for life after they departed, this is a common problem under dictatorships. I personally never understood the negativity about Siad Barre, then again I lived in Baladweyn (the city seen above) and it was one of the parts of the country where Siyaad had great admirers. My parents were one of those people, so was I; both of my parent's came from rebellious clans, and even when Siyaad was executing my mother's cousins she still supported the president. Life was good, I can't say anything negative about the men, he gave me a wonderful country to grow up in.

Even if it was eventually the USC that ousted Siad Barre, he is extremely popular with the people from the South. I know many people who were born in the South and they don’t have anything else but praise for the man.

Even people from Puntland have a popular view on him and he did some wrong to them,

Moda suckas, :lol: I don't know how safe it will be for me in Somali, but I am really think of going there for my next African tour which will take place next year. I am thinking of Hergesia since I ain't showing up to the rebels.

Day by day I fall in love with this place. I lived in a Somali community for a while but the fools never told me how nice Somali was :bash: all they talked about was the bad stuff. I am not jokin, My next Africa tour Somali might join the list of countries to visit.

Hargeisa is perfectly safe, plenty foreigners there, especially Kenyans, Arabs etc. You won't face any difficulties.
