After worzil's post yesterday
"Soil testing yesterday and ABD Group had some sort of presentation today.
Presumably a groundbreaking ceremony, so it might be starting soon.
ABD have it as under construction on their website."

and Mark Baljak's posting of the first detailed render, I think it's safe to start a thread and list it as "u.c.". Mark's render is particularly welcome as ABD only have a partial render on their website and Fender Katsalidis don't have one at all on theirs. 18 Moray Street is just off City Road, on the corner of Catherine, and shares the block with CE's Main Point, Platinum and the future Palladium. It will be a dense little pocket in time.

Yep, they were working on this today.

This is kinda like a minature A108 isn't it, with the podium having exposed parapets festooned with greenery, then a glass tower rising above. Which is also the style of the podiums of West Side Place and Sapphire by the Gardens. That Hanging Gardens of Babylon look is so hawt right now.

After a flurry of excitement with the piler on site, things went quiet for a while. Today, there was more excavation and earth moving under way.

Have any of the apartments in this been sold? There's been zilch in terms of marketing, no other renders etc.
I don't remember seeing one ad for this either. Perhaps another hotel deal is brewing.

18 Moray is now the Imperium Hotel, if a MOD COULD please add to the title.

That tree in that shot is pretty awesome. Please don't tell me any development will have that removed!

It is nice. Looks like it could be a Queensland Bottle Tree, or just something else with a unusually thick trunk?

Also, the discussion about Palladium Tower has been moved to a different thread...the thread about Palladium Tower

I wondered about the name of the tree. They're increasingly popular in landscaping, as they're quite compact and have an interesting shape. There were a couple of healthy specimens planted beside The District's carpark in Docklands, but they've been removed to make way for the The Market development. I was hoping that they're the sort of tree which can be moved, as it would have been a pity to lose all those years of growth. Thanks, O, for updating the thread title.
