I'd have to say my favorite Southern river city is Jacksonville. The St. Johns River is just so dang impressive as it winds through the city.

What about G-Vegas? We have the Reedy that goes right through the middle of downtown.

For whatever reason, none of North Carolina's major cities has a river in town (or at least downtown). Not Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem or Durham!

Wilmington's the main NC river city.

They are all beautiful. But Richmond is the largest USA city with white water running thru it. Pretty impressive, in my biased opinion.:)

For at least a few months longer, my home remains Tuscaloosa,AL.
The city is in a period of growth and transition, so several entire blocks seen in this photo on the city web site from last year will be replaced within the next couple years :

What is it with every ******* city in the southeast feeling the need to refer to itself as the first part of the city's name and ending with Vegas? I've heard Nashvegas, G-vegas, Jackvegas, Huntsvegas, and now Chattavegas. Three words: Give it up.

It must be Vegas envy!
