Well, actually it feels more like summer so here are some pics from sunny Cologne

One of the few highrises

The old part of town

Square in front of Cologne's central station

The train station

Tourist taking a pic of Cologne Cathedral

Modern art

The Cathedral

Replica of what's on top of the cathedral

The lighting inside of the cathedral's pretty poor, so some shots aren't crystal clear

I love that cathedral.

However it looks like it needs a bit of cleaning. :D

They are cleaning the cathedral all the time. It takes a lot of time. And when they're done, the first parts they've cleaned are dirty again :D

So, the cathedral is like a construction site with no endling because of the cleaning / restauration.

Cologne people say that it's the armageddon when the cathedral construction is finished ;)

(hopu u understood that. my english nix (nothing) good :p)

Cologne looks really nice, I'm planning to visit Cologne as there will be direct flight from HK to Cologne next year so that I need not have a stopover at Frankfurt anymore.

Beautiful pictures. I remember being amazing by the Cologne Dom. I'll be sure to visit again when I come to Europe next summer. The Cologne Dom is several hundred years old and is one of the tallest churches in the world. It was one of the only buildings mostly intact after WWII, the allies had some respect.

they began to build the cathedral in 1248, but the two towers were finished 1880

That cathedral looks beautiful.....how old is it
As Patrick mentioned, work started in 1248 but came to a standstill in the mid 1500s. By that point the towers hadn't even been built yet. Construction then started again in the 19th century and it was finished in 1880.
