Calm Poya Night at Avukana Buddha Statue in Sri Lanka




Spending the night alone at Avukana temple on a poya day is such a wonderful experience. After exploring around Kala Wawa I went to see this iconic temple in Avukana. I had time to spend here alone until the night mail train comes.

The Avukana Buddha statue is a standing statue of the Buddha near Kekirawa in North Central of Sri Lanka. The statue height is about 40 feet and at night it is the most fascinating sight. It has been carved out of a large granite rock face during the 5th century according to history.
 
Ravana's Cave in Ella - A Mysterious and Historical Cave in Sri Lanka



Ravana's Cave is located near Ravana falls. It is about 2km distance from Ella town. Getting to the cave is not a difficult task, but at inside going further the cave is a challenging task.

But it is closed due to extreme danger and you can see the other entrance in Dow temple. Some people say that, Ravana's dead body can be found here and also that one day he will rise from the dead.
