Rebounding from a brainstorming meeting in March, city officials are inching toward short-term and long-term plans for the city's port just south of downtown.

It would be great if they could figure a way to get mini cruises to New Orleans / Galveston / Mobile / Biloxi / Key West on US vessels, sort of like boutique cruises.

In fact, I bet if someone were to come up with the idea, you could literally shuttle a small vessel back an forth, circle the Gulf and end at the Keys / Miami and cross back over to Galveston again or vice versa.
