I'll try to make this interesting from the beginning: the Masshole Accent.

As someone who grew up surrounded by thick Boston accents, I must say that they annoy the hell out of me when spoken by women. A girl with a thick Boston accent - no matter how attractive and smart she may be - just comes across as crass. I have no problem with guys with thick Boston accents, I think they sound a bit tough (not the Brahmin accent, which is different, but the blue-collar "regular" Boston accent).

Anyone else enjoy (or more likely, hate) the Boston accent?

more like Taxachusetts...
I'll just repost this from another thread...

...the myth of Taxachusetts needs to die. For the past 15 years, the state has greatly reduced taxes across the board, and the state currently ranks 28th in terms of average tax burden.

Mass residents have lower tax burdens than people who live in North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah, Indiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, Maryland and some other surprising places.

Check out the list for yourself:

According to a CNN report (albeit in 2005), Mass ranked 32nd.
