hmmm, i used to live there as a kid and lets just say I'm glad I'm gone. However, I will be visiting family in a few weeks so I can take pics of my local town (Bozeman). There is a lot of scenery there (on the western side) but the eastern side of the state is sort of a dumb. Anything past Livingston and its not worth going any further east lol. As for things to do, if you're really into fresh water fishing or fly fishing then there is a lot of that. Also skiing and snowboarding.
I used to road trip with my family every year to Kalispel, Montana. It's a fantastic place. It doesn't have much in the realm of skyscrapers and urbanity but it is still a great place to visit, especially if you love wilderness!!
