Stavanger-Sandnes is Norways third largest urban area behind Oslo and Bergen. It consist of the two nearby cities of Stavanger (which is Norways fourth largest on its own) and Sandnes that have increasingly grown together and are now counted as one. The thread will be dedicated to showing projects in both Stavanger and Sandnes as well as their closest suburbs.

A new rendering have been released. I have to say I quite like this project. A good variation of designs and heights which I think will make it a quite pleasant place to even if not all of the individual buildings are that great looking.

Øglændkvartalet in Sandnes city center. It was approved by the city a while back, but the county protested the decision because the angled roof on one of the buildings would be replaced by a setback floor. The government had to step in and gave their approval of the plans including the setback floor. Construction start should now be imminent.

It's approved, a website have been launched for it and they were earlier touting construction start this year.

Norwegian architecture blows my mind! I love how you literally integrate the project with its natural surroundings
Yeh I love how contextual/unique it is. The norwegian threads are one of the few metro/compilation ones I always visit because I find that type of modern architecture so much more interesting than glass and concrete towers that have no relationship with their surrounding
