I thought Rogfast deserved its own thread too (Ryfast got one) given the scale of this project and that we will soon see proper construction here.

The main part of this project is the Boknafjord tunnel which will become the worlds longest and deepest tunnel at 26,7km and 390 meter below sea level respectively. The tunnel will also feature what is likely the first completely underground highway interchange in the world.

Why no updates here? Is there any other thread? I think the project is active and progressing, right?
Right. Kvitsøytunnelen.

I am not familiar with this project at all, but why did they start from the middle of the tunnel which is on the island? Wouldn't be easier to start from one of the tunnel terminations? Are there any construction works commenced already in the tunnel termination too?
I guess they will eventually start in the two other ends aswell, but they haven't yet. Completion is scheduled for 2033.
Kind of strange to think that the connection tunnel to Kvitsøy alone will be more than 3.5 km long. Just connecting the main tunnel to the surface is a huge project in its own right.

By the way, are there any projections about developments on Kvitsøy when the tunnel is up and running? Right now it's a bit of a backwater, struggling to retain a population above 500, but with the tunnel it will suddenly be situated only a short drive from Stavanger (or Bokn, if you want to go there for some reason). The potential for commuting would become vastly greater. Surely that's going to change the island a bit, given how crowded and expensive it is to live that close to Stavanger?

No one likes Bokn, however it will also be within reasonable commute from Haugesund and Karmøy.
