I give it a 9, as I love these old "skyscrapers"... I just try and imagine how thrilling it was in 1929 to go all the way the elevator to the top!

I think this building is overshadowed even by similar buildings that emerged at the time. In fact, I think it's the more elegant cousin of the long-gone Toronto Star building (though it's a shame that it had to go). I really enjoy the setbacks at the top.
Some of the best skyscrapers were built during this time period but this building is overshadowed by others of its type in NY, Chicago, and Detroit.
I still like it though. It was difficult to see some of the setbacks near the top in the picture, so I checked out emporis.com. It looks like there is some nice stonework up at the top.

it surprises me how many nice, older structures they have in TO.
it's ok, but not nearly as nice as the other buildings in TO of the same era. 7/10
This is a brilliant Bay Street beauty. I've always thought it was underrated.
High quality and elegant stonework and lovely proportions. Classic design also.
